How can I tell if I copied a post link?
Open the post and look at the address. A post link has /comments/ in it, like reddit.com/r/name/comments/ followed by a code. A link that ends after the subreddit name, or a profile link, points to many posts at once and will not work.
Can I download videos from NSFW subreddits?
Yes, if the post is public and VisionStream can open it. Many NSFW posts, though, make you log in or confirm your age before Reddit shows them, and those are out of reach for us. If you see a login or age wall in a private browser window, the video cannot be downloaded here. Reddit Help explains how its age and login rules work.
Can I save a crosspost or a repost?
Yes. A crosspost shows the same video as the original, so its link works the same way as long as the original post is still up. If the original is deleted, the crosspost may stop playing as well.
Can I save GIFs from Reddit?
Many GIFs on Reddit are really short silent videos. If the post plays inside Reddit, paste its link and you will usually get an MP4. GIFs that are hosted on other sites need the link from that site.
What about posts that link to YouTube, Streamable or Imgur?
On those posts Reddit only shows a preview. The video itself lives on the other site. Copy the link from that site and use the matching downloader. You can find all our downloaders on the home page.
Is it okay to use a saved clip in a class presentation?
Showing a short clip in class is usually fine, but credit the poster and check your school's rules. If you want to publish it online or use it in anything commercial, ask the creator first.
Will VisionStream add a watermark to the video?
We do not add any watermark. If you see a logo in the saved video, it was already part of the clip, for example from another app the poster used.
Can I play the saved MP4 on my TV?
Most smart TVs play MP4 files from a USB stick. Copy the file to the stick, plug it in and open it from the TV's media player. If the TV refuses the file, try the 720p size, which almost every TV supports.
